Due to circumstances beyond my control, I have shutdown my BOINC operation. I am still running SETI Classic on 2 Macintosh G3 Laptops.
Why do I run SETI? Because I think that we could find something out there, as the comedian Gallager says "Ya know why Hubble is not pointed down? Because there is no intelligence down here..."
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I seriously believe that there is intelligent life somewhere out there, and hope that we will find it within my lifetime.
I like to run SETI@home because I think that spare CPU Cycles are being wasted on useless screen savers. Why not make use of all this technology that we have available!
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
