I'm from the Netherlands, 15 years old. ET has gotta be out there. Think of it. Whe haven't seen 1 0/00 of the universe and of that 0/00 we have no clue what's in it exactly except for Earth. And to be honest Earth isn't al that clear to us either.
I think I'm gonna try to get a lotta people to join this program and form a team with them :). That'd be fun :) if you wanna join another program like this (not for ET) you can go to http://www.distributed.net.
Ooooh just saw something flying by! Ah..... only a plane....
And now...... I'm gonna phone home :)

Extraterrestrial life has got to exist, because we have seen nothing of the universe. If they are within 1 lightyear we will discover them within 2 centuries I think. Maybe sooner, but that depends on the radio technology being updated. Transmission earth --> mars = 20 minutes, so to get a response you have to wait approx. 45 minutes. That's way too long to have a conversation. Also we need to get better propulsion systems so we can go faster & further. We'd need something of a gravity device thingamajig so we don't float around. For more ideas just watch a load of Star Trek(R) movies/series. Because they've got pretty good stuff..... *sniff* If only it were real that stuff and not cardboard *sniff*. Well the benefits are they might have cancer or AIDS on their planet and also a cure. Another benefit might be the technology. They might have other technology then us, and maybe we could use that tech (or the other way around). A danger is that we might be killed and the planet destoyed, if for some reason we get'm angry or they've just got violent nature.
Of course we should transmit a beacon, because they might have their own SETI project. The information we should send would be peace message in all known languages and some mathematical things.
I run Seti@home because the universe has always interested me. And people always claiming to be abducted, having seen some UFO orother. Well ,there has to be rational explanation. If you ask me these three are the ones (not any special order):
1) Some governement(s) have one or more secret projects with hypermodern
aeroplaines.
2) There are aliens, and they've come to visit us, but can't or don't want to
communicate with us.
3) Those people are just nuts, send'm to a shrink. (This is the less likeliest
I think.)
