Personal background
Hi. I'm Andy from Manchester in England. I spend a lot of time on-line both through work and play and feel that this is a worthwhile way to put my computer to some sort of REAL use. I can't wait to hear what our friends in the sky have to say to us.......
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Extraterrestrial life MUST exist in some form. The sheer size of our universe must mean that there is something else out there. I would like to think that the SETI project will pick up some sign of life but sadly I beleive the odds are against us.

I think humans should transmit beacon to identify our presence in space but should be without any particular message. If sentient beings are able to respond, and choose to respond, then that would be fine. The dangers have been suggested by most science fiction authors over the years.....

I've decided to run SETI because it would be nice to find evidence of life elsewhere, and to be involved in my own little way is quite gratifying. I think we would all like to be able to say that "my computer found the aliens" so heres hoping......
