Personal background
I'm currently stuck here in western Pennsylvania. I've
spent the last several years in Arizona, where the night sky
is incredible. I've spent many hours looking through a
telescope at the night sky, hoping there will come a way to
exceed the speed limit (Physicist are now thinking there
could be a way to go faster than light).
I've worked on electronics for the Hubble Space
Telescope, the International Space Station, and the shuttle
launch pad. I feel privileged to be able to make that
statement....Yep I'm a hardcore spacecase.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I first heard of seti@home at a news website. I
downloaded it as soon as it became availible, and my pc has
been running twenty four hours a day since (minus just
a little down time). I've been so happy to see it get such
a good reception from all the people wanting to participate.
I'm in it for the duration. I would like to see the seti
search sites transmitting some percentage of the time.
There may be danger, but that's been the case for all of the
history of the human race, and there has always been a few
brave ones blazing the trail for others to follow.
I think ETI must be out there, and I want to make
contact. I'm not convinced anyone has so far.
