Personal background
I'm a physics major who's also a bookworm and a musician: I'm a pianist, vocalist, and just starting to learn sitar. Free time doesn't exist, but when I pretend it does I enjoy poetry collections, science fiction, large trampolines, physics discussions, writing, and the company of friends.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
There is a high statistical probability that "life" exists in locations other than Earth, so I think we have a responsibility to look for it. Radio telescopes are a good method, because most civilizations advanced enough for us to contact would likely use or at least monitor the electromagnetic spectrum for communications. SETI@home should be continued; with patience, our curiosity may bear fruit.
