| I am a 20 year old UMIST (University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology) Student studying Software Engineering in the North West of England. I am interested in Archary, climbing, sailing and obviously computers given my degree. I also have an interest in Phystics and history, science being the thing which made me look into this project in the first place. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

| Whilst I believe that extraterrestrial life certainly exists the chances of us finding inteligent life or communicating with it in the near future to be incredibly small, however even just discovering there is such life would mark a major turning point in the history of mankind. A point unrivaled since it was discovered that the earth was infact not flat and the planets didn't revolve about us. The discovery that we are not alone in the universe may go some way to making people look at what makes us the same rather than consentrating on our differences in race, religion or way or life and breed a better way of co-operation and understanding in the world. |
