Personal background
I'm a 20 year old physics/math major in college that will be attending the police academy in september as a first step on my way into the FBI. I'm a country guy that has a sincere fascination with science, as well as being extremely enticed by my belief that extraterristial life exists.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I certainly believe alien life forms exist. I believe we are on the verge of discovery, and I hope it happens soon I'd very much like to be a part of the experience. The dangers are pretty much the general risks when encountering any foreign culture...whats their intentions? can we communicate? how do we know if we offend them? etc. The benefits....boundless what our two races could share and how far we could go with a partner in the universe.

I'm very much for the SETI program as well as the transmission of code. If we want to know if there's life out there, why not search for it ourselves (its human nature) and why not in the form of a hailing. We should send something structurally universal, such as math, or maybe sub-atomically sequenced coding(diagramed of course).

I run SETI@home to help the project as well to be apart of something grand and intrigal to the development of mankind. The project is excellant let's keep it up!
