Personal background
Hi, my name is Jimmy and I am a freshman at Berkeley. In recent months, I have become interested in astronomy and intrigued by the possibility of extraterrestrial life. Because of this, I am now working to build a 13" Dobsonian telescope with some of my classmates, and I also decided to dedicate my computer's processor power to SETI@home. I hope to become the first person to discover extraterrestrial life!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I really don't know whether extraterrestrial life exists. I have heard some sources that say extraterrestrial life is extremely likely, and others that say it is extremely unlikely (with probability on the order of 10E-50. I do think that IF there is intelligent life out there, we should find it, since in the process, we will learn a great deal about the universe and about ourselves.
