Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Yes I believe ET life exits. When we will discover it depends on when we venture past our solar system. Benefits and dangers are concurent with when people explorered the earth. Running into new cultures, and new civilizations. Both more advanced, and less advanced.

2. I believe we should transmit, but with something more powerful then radio, or TV. Information should be mathmatical. Every advanced culture would understand the message.

3. I run SETI@home to help the research to find ET life, and better technology with out of planet friends. My views cover the fact that there is more out there, or else its a great waste of space. No pun intended. We need to explorer more out of planet then in planet.
