Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
It is relly posible that there is life in other part of our universe, but I don't think we can discover it, How an ant can find another ant that lives in some part of the world out of it city?? The better benefit is the knowledge because in all the history the human have cuestioned where is he living, what is this reality that we only can perceive with our senses and process those sensations with our reasoning to make its representation? The discovering of an extraterrestrial life will give a new conception of the universe and will open our minds to think that we're not necesarily the most important thing in the world.

Humans have to transmit a beacon for others because maybe we can't find them but at least we give them a chance to know that they are not lonely. First of all we should send signals very easy to interpret and then tray to establish a code to start a simple communication, and finally this kind of communication will turn more complicated and useful so we can know a lot of things about their culture, way of life and all kind of stuff.

I run Seti@home because it's an interesting project and because every waterfall begins with a drop. This project must go on and search for better ways to reach the objective. One suggestion is that you should show us more information about the progress and the important signals that you have found.
