Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Unless you turn off your computer as-soon-as you finish typing something, and unless you have 100% CPU usage on your computer, you are actually wasting CPU cycles !

You could contribute your CPU cycles to science, or search for aliens. I used to run SETI@home until I discovered Folding@Home project. This project is a distributed computing research that helps us discover how DNA molecules fold. I find it much more satisfying for helping scientists find cure to cancer than searching for Aliens. You can choose for yourself what project you want to give your unused CPU cycles to.
