Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think that there is extraterrestrial life in space, but the outer space is so big, that the chance to find them is really small. When they manage it to come to us, they will have the better technlogy, but this isn't only a bad thing.
The only problem I see is: would it be international when we have the first contact or would it be non-international? No country should have the right to make it to its own project.

I use seti@home, because I want to be part of the big moment ;-)
And I want to have this nice screensaver.
