Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I am a strong believer in extraterrestrial life. If you think about it, there´s a big universe out there and we have just begun to explore it (just looking over the fence). I think what the people of Seti@home (and we, who are participants) are going the right way about the ET´s.
In my opinion it still takes some time until we discover ET (about 10-20 years, since the universe is really big), but if we do I hope that humanity will stop waging wars against each other to start reaching another goal, to begin exploring the universe.
The only danger I see, is that ET is hostile.
I think that we should send out signals to possible locations in the near vicinity where there could be ET´s, because when our signal reaches them, they might get it before their Sun blows up... Otherwise the only thing we can do now is wait for them.
