Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
It would be very unintelligent to think we're the only intelligent life in our universe... why should we be the only organism that has evolved to our state of being?
Why shouldn't we at least think about transmiting a beacon? Afterall, we're assuming another intelligent life has started doing the same for SETI to be a going concern, surely it makes sense for us to do similar in case someone else is doing as we do?
Why do I run SETI? Just the thought i'd played a part in finding something, someone, out there. When i have a number of machines sat doing very little unless i'm sat at them, may as well be working for someone else whilst not for me. |
