Personal background
I currently reside in Northern California, but it seems I have lived everywhere. I have seen the peaceful shores of the Atlantic
and the unpredictable shores of the Pacific.
It only takes snow skiing during a full moon in the beautiful majestic mountains of Colorado,
or a walk along the expansive desolate beaches of Central America to see the true beauty of
our home planet earth. Both were humbling experiences for me.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
It is hard to believe using the guidelines set by the late great Carl Sagan that sentient life does not exist elsewhere in the Galaxy.
There are those that would propose that the random firing of a beacon of communications may predispose itself to incur negative
reprecussions should we stumble upon what we are looking for.
The doomsayers would have you believe that this is a request for annilation by a superior alien race. However, how can any superior
alien race be so without the understanding of the value of intelligent life beyond the boundaries of their solar system.
What discoveries, what enlightenment, and what pure joy to find a species in this Galaxy who wishes to share in the exploration of the
wonders of our cosmos.
To paraphrase Patrick Henry, "Give me knowledge or Give me death."
