I am 40 years old, I was married, and have a daughter aged 17 years.
Now I live alone, but I have a girlfriend. I think that is all to say about me.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think that extraterrestical life exists. But I am nearly sure, that mankind is impossible to discover it. I think we are not yet ready for such a discovery. We should resolve our problems here on earth first. The mankind is not able to live together in peace without opressing somebody else. So what would happen, if we were suddenly confronted with any Aliens? I think it woulden´t take long since the Alien would recognize us as a very dangerous breed. In that way there are two possibilities: The Alien is martial too, so he will destroy us, to protect himself, or he is much better than we. In this case I think he will hide himself, so that we are not able to find him.
The other side of the problem is technican development. Supposing, the Alien is about 100 000 years older than mankind, it would be a great shock for the whole mankind to be confronted with such a Technology.
I dont believe in Ufo´s, because I think Albert Einstein wasn´t so wrong. But I believe, that the Aliens (if there are some, and if they are advanced enough) observe us. And as soon as the mankind has learned to live in peace, and not to destroy it´s own Planet and everthing what it loves, I mean if mankind has really grown-up, then, and only then, the Aliens will come and say "Hello" to us.
I think positive! That´s why we should call out to space: "hello, were ever you are, come visit us", bewcause I think that Aliens are friendly!
I run SETI@home because i love the idea to find someone out there.
