Personal background
I teach American Literature at a small women's college in Hiroshima, Japan. I am also in charge of the university observatory. Days in the classroom and nights in the observatory make for some interesting conversations....
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
When students visit the observatory, they inevitably ask if I have seen any UFOs. I have to tell them that I haven't, but that I'm always looking. I may never be able to see any, but I know that by taking part in the SETI project, we may find where they may have come from. I hope to someday show these students the stars from which these visitors may have come.
