As a 60-odd year old retiree, I have plenty of time to devote to my own interests. Also, as a 4-time divorced person, I am perfectly free to do as I please.
I am a member of the Osage and Kaw Indian Nations and live in 'Indian Territory' in Oklahoma, home of the 'Red Man'.

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

It seems to me almost a certainty that life exists other than on Earth. As for how humans may discover it, I couldn't speculate, except that I believe SETI has a chance to make the discovery of a certain form of 'ET' which may exist.
As for the form extraterrestrial life may take, especially its intelligence, I can easily imagine we may be of little importance.
As for the project, I LOVE it! How about donating computers to folks who need them with the caveat that they participate in the project. Maybe some VERY wealthy person named Cates or something close to that might help?
