Profile: Punk Walrus

Personal background
Hello fair reader!

I am Grig, or as some people in sci fi fandom know me as "Punkie." I was one of the first people to take up this project, and still continue to chug away the data across multiple machines at home or at work (which is why my count is so high). My life is an odd one, which can be read in detail at my web site, but in short: I work for a major ISP, designing and building node testing systems (usually phone lines), as well as manage several web sites. In my off hours, I am an avid reader and writer, having published one sci fi comedy book so far. I am married, have one great son, four cats, and an alien lifeform posing as a Pekingese doggie, although he's not fooling me!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I truly believe that ETL exists (based on my own speculative statitsics), but I could not even begin to guess if and when we find them, or what we will find. I think we should send out a polite "Hello," but I think all the other stuff we broadcast will be picked up eventually, anyway. I run SETI@home because I always wanted to be an astrophysicist, but lacked the money to complete college and realize my dream. But someday, when I am rich, I think I will go back to school.
