Personal background
Greetings from Rosarito Beach, Baja California, Mexico!

I have always been interested in astronomy, always wanted to be an astronomer (but I cannot handle all of that heavy math! lol!), finally I am presented here
with SETI@home to fulfill my dream of being part of a scientific research, which is very fulfilling!

I'm into computer hacking (not cracking), fencing, RPGs, linguistics, hiking, among other things.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Why do you run SETI@home?
1) Yes I do think ET exists, but humanity is not ready culture wise (wars, religion, etc), to meet or face ET. As the old proverb says: 'When the student is ready, the Master shall appear'. As we speak I believe that we are being observed (inside and outside the planet). Technological advancements in different fields is a double edged sword (both a blessing and dangerous). As I said, humanity as a whole is not ready for that.

What are your views about the project?
2) Humans already transmitted a beacon back in the 70s, I think it was the Pioneer with some golden plaque and pictures of ourselves, basic info on where the Solar System is located, etc.

Any suggestions?
3) I run the SETI@home because of many reasons, the fun, the thrill, the experience, and personally I would like to throw a wrench into dogmatic, repressive, and brainwashing governmental and religious systems. So far I just started to run it and it is very interesting!
