Profile: Thanar

Personal background
I was born in Kozani, a small town of Northern Greece. I moved to Thessaloniki for my pre- and post-graduate studies and finished at early 2004. Moved back to my home town ever since, where I work as an Engineer, focused mainly in private constructions.

Apart from my work, I've been cycling around the area for more than a year, which I enjoy a lot!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I've always been interested in distributed computing projects; even more if they had anything to do with extraterrestrial issues of any kind. That's the reason I joined SETI@home back at 1999. Since then, I sort of abandoned the project due to lack of optimization for the Macintosh. I came back, however, since the project became open-source.

In the bottom line, as a Great man used to say, "The Universe is a huge thing; Bigger that anything anyone has ever imagined. And if it's just us, then it's an awful waste of space."
