1. I run SETI@home because I feel the project is a worthy
of much support. The idea of the world coming together to search for
life in the Universe has an uplifting feel to it. The chance for
cultural and technological exchange is really exciting.
2. Many people place our world at the center of the
Universe and deny the possibility of alien life. Such arrogance is
appalling. How could anyone reasonably conclude that we are "it".
SETI@home is an exciting project that will serve to humble our
planet and bring us together as a world instead of a collection of
countries who battle for supremacy.
3. When I was teaching during college I had a computer lab
with 30 workstations in it. I put SETI@home on all of them. I
encourage anyone with this option to do so(obtain appropriate
permission first!).
