Personal background
I'm 33 & a robot programmer from Kent in the UK.

As often as practical, I throw myself down powder covered mountains with a plank strapped to my feet! Snowboarding's the most incredible buzz I've ever known, mostly because it lasts so much longer than bungee or parachute jumps, but also because of the freedom, control and absolute FUN factor involved. Flying 2m trick kites & doing yoga also keep me sane.

Peace & Goodness to one & all....

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Yes, I think that other life exists in this universe. The odds against this planet being the only one of billions to actually sustain life must surely be phenomenal!!

I think we should transmit a beacon signal, kinda like SETI is hoping the other civilisations are doing, isn't it?

I run SETI simply because I believe it is a worth wile project, and a great use of all the computing power sitting idle around this planet of ours. My PC is about the fastest I've built, but was usually off while I worked, now it's on 24/7 & has been since July 21st 2002! We might as well be using the CPU cycles for a greater good.

I hope that SETI turns up some interesting results, but not hostile aliens! I've seen those 50's "B" movies, so I know what they're like!! hahaha.
