I am from Central Florida. I am 38 years old. I enjoy airboating, fishing and playing on computers. Although my goal would be to become the worlds biggest slacker. I have been working for a communications company for the last 19 years. So much for slacking. I enjoy my job though, so that helps.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I think there is life outside our reach. I think we will be contacted first or have been discovered by other life prior to us discovering it. The benefits may be a more mature way of life. Dangers would be to think we are a barbaric society and feel the need to eliminate us.
2. I do not think we should send or transmit a beacon for others to find until we achieve world peace. Would you invite someone to your home if it was not cleaned and looked its best for company?
3. I run seti to find out if there really is life outside of my little town. I think the project is great. Just a shame we could not do the same for World Peace.
