Personal background
Hi mates!

Do you know Julius Caesar? I do. Not personally, though. My University subjects Archeology, Ancient Greek, Latin and Roman history get me close to those ancient times regularly.

Maybe the Romans, Greeks, Babylonians and Egyptians knew more about extraterrestrial life than we do, despite all our computers and machinery. So many things were lost in time, and were not rediscovered until recently. What about all the weird passages in the Bible?

So even if we will never know what they really knew, I hope we will find friedly extraterrestrial cultures, not lusting for conquest and expansion, but rather peaceful; I hope they will show us the way to save our precious little planet EARTH.

If you like contributing your CPU time to the SETI program as much as I do, maybe together we´ll be able to locate them.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I´m not completely sure whether other intelligent life forms exist (-who defines that? Are WE really intelligent life forms? What would we say if we were looking at a copy of our own planet from far away?). I hope we´ll be treated as equals, not slaves or worse.

It´s really fun to watch the status bar advance. I even thought of buying an new PC, and run SETI on it exclusively.

I like the notion of contributing to a great project, by means other that money. I would love to see something like that in other areas of life as well, maybe in helping our neighbours, poor countries or the environment. Any ideas?

Greetings from Trier,
Germany´s oldest city (14 BC),

Andy
