Personal background
I'm currently 20 years old. I'm a student in college, I'm getting my B.S. degree in Computer Networking. Once I'm done with that, I really don't know what I have planned. I also work there at the school, doing various office tasks, so I just might become a teacher, or even better, their new Network Admin, which I would love doing. Some of my hobbies include programming and building computers from scratch. I built this one I'm on now from the ground up. Computers and technology are my life, and I'm quite upset I can't get TechTV where I'm at. I have a website that I use to post my programs on for free to the public, but it's not quite ready for visitors yet.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think we should set a beacon, and send out prime numbers as the data. It is my understanding that against background static, prime numbers would have a distinctive sound to them. I run SETI just for fun. When I've got CPU cycles to spare. The project is a very creative idea, certainly growing into a massive worldwide effort, one worthy of the record books.

I do think other life exists. The day we figure out how to go faster than the speed of light, or very close to it, I think that's when we'll discover other forms of life. It seems a common thread with "other life" is that they are more advanced than we are, so a possible benefit would be technology advances. There's countless dangers. Maybe that other life isn't looking to make first contact, but is looking to conquest. Maybe we'll all be turned into slaves. Or worse?

...

With that cheery little note, go download SETI@home, get a work unit, and help enslave humanity today! MUHAHAHAHAHAHA!
