I think it is inconceivable that there is no other life in the Universe. I am skeptical about the discovery of Radio signals. Unless Earth-style broadcasts could be detected by a far off planet, why should we think that there are similar signals from other planets that are detectable? However, there is no alternative for the moment.
I believe a signal of some kind should be sent, perhaps with laser encryption, so that others might find us. This beam should be the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. Since music is the universal language, any life form with the ability to hear can grasp it.
I run SETI@home because I want to do my part to disprove the naysayers and religious dogmatics. My only suggestion would be to update the look of the screen saver every now and then. |
