| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I belive extraterrestrial life exists, I'm not if / when we will ever discover it. The dangers of discoverying a new lifeform are that we as humans would destory as we have previously destroyed many other forms of life.
I run seti@home as I think it's a great way of bring space exploration closer to masses. Also it's useful to use up those free CPU cycles. As to whether or not the project will be sucessful depends on how many people crunch, how long the project runs for and if enough data can be continued to be supplied. I would suggest a better client (3rd party clients seem to be much faster). |
