Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1.
To think that extraterrestrial life does not exist would be beyond the odds. I feel we will "discover" life more than likely via radio signal. I do not see either a benefit or danger on discovery as we will not meet, or communicate any time soon.
2.
We should definately send a strong signal toward likely star systems. It should include a message of peace.
3.
I run SETI as a service to the educational community. I am excited about communal computing being utilized in other areas as well.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
