Profile: Dennis O'Brien NØSP

Personal background
I've been in aviation all of my life... flew small planes as a teenager, did 7 years in the U.S. Navy as a pilot, then began flying executive jet aircraft. I presently live in the mountains west of Denver, Colorado area flying a Falcon 2000 business jet.
My main hobby is Amateur Radio, although I have many interests. I'm constantly soaking in what is going on around me and can't seem to settle down until I know how whatever-it-is works.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I've always been facinated with the far away and un-seen places. This started as a child when I'd listen to my parent's "All American" 5-tube broadcast AM radio late at night when distant cities I could only dream about were being heard. I grew up in rural Northeastern California in the Sierra Nevada mountains so anyplace big was far away. Ham radio found it's way in to my life then and remains so today. As far as Seti is concerned, I'm not expecting alien creatures to knock on my door or even show themselves in my lifetime, but if they do they'll have my attention and interest. The Seti screensaver is a fun thing for the computer and I'm glad to help those that are so dedicated to the search.
Enjoy!
