Profile: Ian Woodcock

Personal background
Born 11/6/51 and brought up in the wilds of Northumberland. On a clear night you could see forever and that is what started my interest in astronomy.I dont care what other people say you can't look at that sort of night sky and not believe that there are others like us out there.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Q1.Yes I am not arrogant enough to think that we are the only inteligent beings in th universe.
Q2.As before an emphatic Yes we transmit a beacon for others to find. The message should include basic information about mankind and how to find us, I do not think that the Independance day scenario would be the outcome of this.
Q3.I run SETI@home because I want to be involved with any attempt to contact alien civilisations.
