Personal background
I was born and raised in New York City. I am 30 years old. I have served with the US Military and now work with the U.S. Government in Security. I like to read, go to museums and the theater, and exercise. I truly believe that knowledge is power so I enjoy learning as much as possible about as much as I can.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I would hope that there is other intelligent life out there somewhere. It would be such a shame and waist of space if it was just us. If there is intelligent life out there, I believe they will find us. The benefits and dangers of such a discovery are obvious. We both learn from each other and evolve or we repel each other and conflict.

We should transmit a beacon for others to find but the information should only include our basic way of life (goals, beliefs, interests, etc…). It should not include any technological/medical strengths or weaknesses until after intent is CLEARLY established.

I run SETI@home because I believe in any and all space programs. I think this project is a great idea and it gives anyone the chance to contribute and be included. I would like to find out the answer (in my life time) to the age old question “are we alone.” Even if the answer to that question is that we are truly alone.
