Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run it because I think it's very important that the SETI data is analyzed, and the worldwide network of personal computers doing the work provides far more progress than SETI could do alone. Plus, my United Devices program quit doing cancer research, which was the whole reason I installed it in the first place, so now I can have SETI running all the time now (they used to conflict, so I'd have to alternate which one was running).
