Personal background |
I'm 40 years old, recent 20 year retiree from the US Navy and working on my second retirement. I've always been fascinated with space and it's exploration. |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I think it's possible that extraterrestrial life exists, though not as we might expect. That said, we'll "discover" them when they feel we are ready to "discover" them. For that same reason, a beacon would be useless, but if one were to be used, the universal (?) language of mathematics should be the obvious choice, possibly PI.
I run SETI@home for the same reasons I served for 20 years in the US Navy. Because if there's a small chance that I might make a difference, I have to take that chance. |
