Personal background
Hi,

I'm from the Netherlands and I am 22 years old. I found this project by surfing the net and it caught my attention right away.

For now my results will be processed by an AMD Athlon 1400, running Windows XP pro and constantly running the SETI program. Soon I will add two more home pc's for extra results! and running Linux for faster processing.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do think ET life exists, but it does so far far away from us, space is like the world is to an ant times x, in one word HUGE. I don't know if any of the SETI participants today will live the day we discover ET life, but the work done now could be of invaluable importance in the future.

If we do discover ET life, I think the best action to take is caution, everybody has seen Independance Day or V the mini series. If the location of possible ET life is found we should observe till we know how advanced the ET's are and if they could be hostile, only then should a possible beacon be transmitted. And if we transmit a beacon it should be a beep of some kind just to let the ET's know there is another life form somewhere, let the ET's be the first to send some beacon with information, radio/tv/morse etc.
