Profile: Hamoudix

Personal background
I live in Mendlesham, Suffolk, UK with my partner and our 2 cats (we did have a rabbit but the cats thought it was dinner !).
I'm over a third of a century old, which is a bit worrying.
I work in IT, I used to play EQ, sadly missed, I never seem to have enough time or money to get things done, but I'm happy, which is what counts !
I like, amongst other things, Motorbikes, Rock climbing, Hi-Fi, Movies and Sci-Fi.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
From what we are told about the grand scale of the Universe, it figures that there MUST be something else out there with some kind of intelligence. The question of when and how we discover it is difficult to answer, I'm hoping it's soon. The Human race is in dire need of an alien visit, we need to be ashamed about the mess our planet is in.
As for sending out a beacon, there must be a whole lotta noise coming from our planet already due to TV and radio broadcasts, I don't think we need to shout any louder - they will pick that up I'm sure.
I run SETI@home because I want to contribute to the project, I like the idea of distributed processing and its a great way to soak-in a new PC !
