Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
If like exists beyond our own, they are either the same technological realm, have exceeded our own, or are not yet developed technologically enough to the point of "higher life." If the first two are correct, then we are not alone and we will know it. However, if the later is correct, we will also not be alone in this vastness of space, yet we will not have any comprehensiveness of the other lifeforms out in space. The benefits of finding aliens, as most people call them, could allow us to "open the door" of further space exploration. That is, if they have the technology of space exploration, it would provide us with so much more possiblities for future development.
We have always been curious about life that is distant from our own home, or planet. This makes us curious. The vastness of space must contain other life sustaining planets besides our own, and we are on a mission to find it. The information that should be sent out should be nothing of confidentiality, but of all our ethnicity.
At first, I heard about this program in science class. This intrigued me and my thoughts of life on other worlds "got the best of me." This program is very interesting, however, my curiousness of this program has made me think of several ways to make this program more interesting. I downloaded all the files that it searches throught, yet, I do not know what it sounds like. I think that it would be more interesting if there were a clip of some sound, like a preview sound, of what SETI is analyzing. One last thing that I would be better, I guess, would be to speed up the process. Most people now-a-days have faster computers that can handle doing many things in a little amount of time. It would be nice if there were a way to make SETI use more processor power and take about a half an hour or so instead of approx. 13 hours. Well, these are my answers and ideas on these thought provoking questions. Thank you for baring with me. :)
