Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Do you think extraterrestrial life exists? If so, when and how will humans discover it? What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?

> Why not? The meanig the humans are alone in this big universe i find stupid.
Also the meaning the humanoid is crown of evolution. I think the animals are
much better than human, they can live with nature in peace and harmony. The
humans only distruct nature.

> When and how... good question. I think they will find us before we find them
if they should have ships, why should we find them ? Too much hightech for us.

> Dangers.... The church has got to change a lot of their meanings... ;-)
I don´t think there would be benefits... why should a higher intelligence help
an liveform that distructs itself ? And if we are the higher intelligence...
is it sinfull to discover a world where live lifeforms that could see a
violence in us ???

Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find? If so, what information should we send?

> Hmm... i think the question is "who is the receiver?" When there are lifeforms
who have the technologie to receive our signals, i think its very difficult
to say what happens. War? Discovering? Peace ?
Sometimes its better to be unseen. If hightech meets stoneageer´s like us,
what should they stop to kill us, if they think whe are unworth to life.

Why do you run SETI@home? What are your views about the project? Any suggestions?

> My computer runs 24/7, most time wtihout great work, so i run SETI.
Ok, if we find something out there, i don´t want to miss.....
