-Well... who knows... depends on the leadership/conciousness of the population of the other race. Obivious ones are invasion/irradication/war. Less obivious are the ones that we just don't have time to comprehend. Will we be delegated to the back end of a gigantic system that we have no notion of? Etc, etc, etc.
