Personal background
I'm from Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. I build components for large commercial vehicles, but I'm trying to get into the I.T. industry.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I'm 95% positive that life exists outside our little blue dot. The universe is a big place, and life has a wonderful ability to show up in what we might consider very hostile, barren places.

"Intelligent" life I'm not so sure about, but it is definately worth our efforts to find out.

Remote sensing like SETI is our best bet to find life out there. Our only other options are having some physical evidence landing on our doorstep, or us taking some brave steps into the cosmos. I think we should try to do the latter anyway, regardless of the results of the search for E.T.

The dangers and benifits have been well mulled over in movies and books for decades, however, one thing is certain, un-shakeable knowledge of intelligent life elsewhere in space would mandate sweeping changes for humanity. In my view, this knowledge would be welcome, regardless of the nature of the others, be they "good guys" or "bad guys".

Transmition from us, out into the darkness is not a good idea at this point. We have much to learn about physics before I would feel comfortable putting the "open for business" sign in the front window.

SETI@Home does the psyche good. You're basically recycling your cpu cycles, which would be lost forever otherwise, and you're helping humanity.

As far as the site goes, more options for feedback would be nice, I love the SETISpy add on.
