The great thing about SETI@home is that virtualy everybody can get involved into it; therefore spreading awarness and publicity for SETI projects in general.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
When you try to understand how big the universe is, how long it exists, then you'll loose your doubts that it exits.

I don't think this particular SETI@home project will have success. But we are still learning how and where to look, and what to expect. I look at SETI@home as another step in a learning process, so that future projects will have a better chance on succeeding.

Other things in life get quite meaningless compared to our mission: the search for extraterestrial life and intelligence.
The benefits would be numerous, and possibly crucial for our further development.
