I'm a UNIX Systems Admin for LSI Logic forced to use a PC from time to time.
I figured, what the hey, someone should get to make use of my spare cycles
since I power the laptop up for at least 8 hours a day and generally only
actually use it around 2-3 hours a day.
Then I found the Solaris version. Except for the reported load of my system,
I don't even notice it running on my ULTRA10...

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

Sooner or later we have to find some other life out there.
The universe is just too big for this to be the only
corner that has any life.
Likely anything we hear will be from a dead civilization,
just due to distance. But echoes of the past will tell
us something, hopefully something useful! |
