Personal background
Hi there all! My name is Norman and I'm 35 years old.
I work software support and have been doing support
now for a number of years. I have supported Javasoft
products, Netgear Products, Nortel Routers, and now
I work for 3M HIS. I star gaze when I can and as many
of you city dwellers know, it's a pain under all these
lights. My wife bought me a telescope not too long ago
and I break it out as often as I can. Took a gander at
Mars while it was close and have viewed the rings of
Saturn and the Moons around Jupiter. I hope to start
trying to get a glimpse of some Nebulaes and Galaxy
clusters one of these days. I was born in Florida on
Eglin AFB and have always looked up and wondered. After
seeing "Cosmos" by Carl Sagan, I knew that we can not
be alone. Somewhere out there, there is some one looking
back and wondering if they are alone. It may never happen
in my life time, that we make actual contact, but the
thrill is just as great knowing that I am helping.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Yes, by pure number alone, there has to be more than us.
When or how I do not know, only that if we do not than we are
fools. There are numerous benifits and risks. Does this mean
we should have never crossed the Atlantic or Pacific?

2. Yes, we should. We should send as many have said before,
a set prime numbers with embedded info about our many cultures.

3. I am running to be involved, to feel I am contributing. I think
it is the best idea to get society involved in one, possible future.
