| I do think that there are other advanced life forms out there. I just hope that they don't contact us. It would be like having your mother show up unexpectedly only to find your home a mess with embarrasing details about your private life spewn from wall to wall. I have to wonder, how many countries would america blow up just to have control over the syntax of a return message? I support this project because I have the hope that if a major discovery is made, that scientists (not governments) will be able to represent intelligent, intellectual, and compassionate humanity. Great things can be learned by visiting with cultures outside of your own, so long as there is the maturity to handle it. I think that if we can learn to feed each other instead of exploit each other (here on earth), we may find that we have friends in other places as well. |
