Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Why do you run SETI@home?
I like being part of the exploration of space. Since space is so vast, this may be the only way we have to make any kind of contact with another world. This is definitely worthwhile.

Thoughts about ETI
I think there has to be non-hostile intelligence out there. I would love to know what they would be like. Just the knowledge that there is someone else would change the world forever. The change would be drastic for some. We have thought of ourselves as the supreme beings (the only beings) for a long time. We need to be careful of labeling them as non-human. They will not be Homo Sapiens but I think they should be included as intelligent human beings. I hope we would treat them with better respect than we have treated other cultures here on Earth.
