Personal background
I'm currently a college student in southern california, I'll be a senior next year so then I have the "real world" ahead of me, still with no clear goals or aspirations.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
For a long time I've been a big fan of science fiction, but still unclear on the science fact involved. I used to agree completely with the Carl Sagan line, popularized in Contact, "If it is just us, then that's an awful waste of space." Becoming a Christian recently, however, has changed my world view on many things, and I'm still attempting to reconcile the possibility of extraterrestrial life with the existence of God. I still believe that the discovery of intelligent life in the universe is potentially the most telling endeavor we can take up, as it would reveal much about our being and about the nature of God.
