Personal background
I am a disabled 50-year-old geek working in the voluntary sector when my health allows.

If 'ET' doesn't exist it would be sad waste of all that space and I refuse to believe it.

Whether SETI succeeds or not is not really the issue. I believe the real significance of SETI, and what makes us human, is asking the question. And as long as we keep asking the question I will do my little bit.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Yes
2. Yes, I beleive any race which has advanced to the point of being able to reach us or conact us will have advanced socially as well as technically.
3. 'ET' talk to us, soon!

The first time I heard Carl Sagan lecturing on SETI I thought then it could well be one of, if not the most, significant research program humankind will ever undertake.
