1: Somewhere extraterrestrial life exists, contact may be established by them, if they wish so. Benefits may be peace on earth and technical advantage. Dangers may be some kind of star wars and the end of the human race
2: Humans should send a beacon into space. It doesn't have to contain any valuable information, it just have to be recognizable as an artificial signal.
3: I run seti@home, because I don't mind to share CPU power with others. I don't think, that anything will be discovered by this project. I have no further suggestions.
