Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Tricky questions...
Off course, ET-life exists! I wouldn't dare say it's intelligent though... But then again, what is intelligent eh ? I just hope it is, that way they can contact us first, because I believe we're a loooong way from going out into space in order to explore it (speed-of-light is a b*tch ;))

Knowing mankind, there are any number of differences between our various races, and some of us could really get along with alien species, other would'nt, and there's nothing you or I can do to change that. Thus, we must realize that an alien species' perception of our world will probably depend on what part of the world they come in contact with first!

And yes, maybe we can transmit ourselves, using radio or light, but I'll leave it up to the scholars to figure out what exactly we should transmit (send them a map to Pluto, so we can observe them there, just don't give them Earth home addy yet!)

All in all, I _am_ interested in ET-life, and that's the main reason why I run Seti@home ;)
