Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
2. I think humanity hasn't evolved enough to deserve establishing contact with another intelligent species. If I was part of a more intellectually evolved species, I wouldn't want to have anything to do with the shallow selfish mercantile 'Ferengi'-like space-gypsies that the humans are. Hell, I'm human and I don't want to be in any way connected to this joke of a "civilized society".
A civilization is not evaluated by the achievements by its "best and brightest", but by the worst and most horrific things done by the most wicked/degenerate members of it (think serial killers, genocide, destroying our own habitat, world-wide propaganda, brainwashing, promoting the most primal human traits (violence and 'reproduction'), dumb-ifying the whole population to retain control, religion, etc... there is an infinite number of examples for absurd things happening every day, just turn your TV on).

--Insert a George Carlin quote on human civilization/society/species here--
